Verse on card:
God used a little donkey to carry Mary to Bethlehem, where Jesus would be born. Many years later a donkey would carry Jesus to Jerusalem, where he would die upon a cross.
God marked the donky's back with a cross. It is a reminder of God's Son Jesus, who was born and died for all.
Used as a small gift to ladies in a Bible study that has presented himself for Christmas but also will transport our study about his role in transporting Jesus in us last days (Palm Sunday).
Verse on Card Reads As:
Just a little donkey,
but on my back I bore
The one and only Savior
the world was waiting for.
Just a little donkey,
but I was strong and proud-
I gladly carried Mary
through the chaos of the crowd.
I brought her to a stable
where she made a tiny bed...
A place for Baby Jesus
to lay His little head.
I pray the world remembers
that special Christmas night
when just a little donkey
carried Heaven's Precious Light.
The Legend of the Donkey 2 [for Easter]
All purebred donkeys are born with a cross on their back. A legend says it is the gift our Lord gave to the humble donkey that IMG_0136carried Him into Jerusalem. According to the legend, the little donkey so loved his Master that he followed Him to Calvary. Grief-striken at the sight, he turned away but remained at his station at the foot of the cross. The shadow of the Cross fell upon him and from that day all purebred donkeys wear the Master’s Cross on their back.
